Thanks to an axial flow velocity of up to 10 m/s and the Bernoulli principle, the raw water is filtered quickly and effectively. The high performance reduces impurities and ensures maximum system productivity.

 

The JET Filter S can be installed flexibly in a horizontal or vertical position and is suitable for a wide variety of media. From cooling water to emulsions, it covers almost all industrial filtration areas for solid-liquid separation.

Filter elements can be changed without removing the industrial filter. This significantly reduces maintenance times and therefore saves costs while ensuring smooth operation in critical applications.

 

The low-wear components ensure a long service life for the water filter. A stable differential pressure during operation guarantees trouble-free, continuous operation.

WHY A BACKWASH FUNCTION?

The backwash function is necessary to regularly clean the filter elements to remove accumulated dirt particles. This ensures a permanently high filter performance and prevents the automatic filter from being blocked by impurities, increasing the efficiency and service life of the water filtration system

HOW DOES THE BACKWASH FUNCTION WORK?

The backwash function cleans the filter elements by opening a motor-driven backwash valve, and a small flow of raw water removes dirt particles from the dirt collection container. The axial flow velocity increases to up to 10 m/s, while a vaccum is generated that guides clean water from the outside to the inside through the filter elements. This ensures particularly thorough cleaning of the water filter. The advantage is that the filter elements are effectively cleaned without interrupting the filtration process, ensuring a consistently high performance of the industrial filter.

The raw water passes through the inlet opening, entering the filter element located behind it. The reduction in cross-section increase the axial flow velocity in the filter element to 5-7 m/s.

In the last third of the filter element, the raw water flows through the element from the inside to the outside. The cleaned water exits the JET Filter S through the clean water nozzle on the side, while the axial flow velocity of 5-7 m/s guides dirt particles into the dirt collection container. 

Backwashing is initiated automatically by a differential pressure between the raw and clean water side or via a time relay in the electrical control system.

During backwashing, a small amount of the raw water flows through the backwash opening, flushing the accumulated dirt particles out of the filter. The axial flow velocity increases to up to 10 m/s, supporting the cleaning process while also guaranteeing backwashing proceeds from the outside to the inside with clean water due to the generated vacuum.

After 10-20 seconds, the backwash valve closes automatically and the filter returns to normal filtration mode. Filtration remains active and uninterrupted during backwashing.

Electrical control system

The electrical control system of the JET Filter S enables fully automatic filter operation by activating the backwash process depending on the time or differential pressure. It ensures seamless integration with the customer’s process control system (PCS) and supports messages such as “collective fault,” “ready for operation,” “filter in flushing mode,” “external triggering of filter backwash,” and “external release of filter backwash.”

Differential Pressure Measurement

The differential pressure measurement of the industrial filter provides a precise visual display of the differential pressure. With two freely adjustable switching contacts, the start of filter flushing and alarm messages can be flexibly configured, ensuring reliable monitoring and control.

Venturi nozzle with backwash valve

The Venturi nozzle is designed to suit the customer's operating conditions to adjust the required flushing water quantity and to prevent pressure fluctuations in the pipe network. The backwash valve is equipped with an electric actuator as standard.

Filter element

The filter element of the JET Filter S consists of stainless steel screen cylinders with axial gaps, ensuring the optimum cleaning of the filter elements. The robust design with welded stainless steel triangular rods guarantees maximum efficiency and durability in operation. Manufactured in various stainless steel grades, they offer a filter fineness starting from 50 μm as well as maximum durability and performance.
